Inspired apART is an online exhibition platform created by artist Katie Koenig, built to connect artists and viewers and fill gaps in arts and culture due to social distancing measures. The typical in-person methods artists and viewers have used to share and appreciate art have shifted during recent events. Art has the power to unify and help relieve stress, both through creating and viewing. The use of technology can provide new and exciting opportunities for artists to come together to share and sell artwork while ensuring the safety of others. The exhibition will feature two dimensional works measuring 12 x 12 inches and under. Connecting to arts and culture during the Covid-19 pandemic is a challenge that is made possible in the safety of a virtual space. Art lovers and patrons will have the opportunity to view and buy original artworks directly from artists.
Over 50 contemporary artists working in two dimensional mediums will showcase 1-3 artworks each for sale during the online exhibition. The artworks include paintings, drawings, and prints in a variety of subjects and styles from abstract landscapes to realistic still lifes. Participating artists are award-winning and gallery represented popular contemporary artists who received invitations to participate. Some notable artists taking part include Blair Atherholt, Natalie Featherston, and Alexandra Averbacht.
